An easy way to make decisions

It’s not easy being an adult human being. At least it’s not easy if you’re not clairvoyant. Mystic Meg aside (RIP), the rest of us don’t have a crystal ball and can’t see what the outcomes of this decision as opposed to another might be.

As I’ve written about before, none of us have any control over the outcomes of our actions. All we have control over is right here, right now, and what we choose to do, or not to do.

Sure, we can analyse the results, and decide whether with the benefit of hindsight that was the ‘right’ thing, then use it as data to inform what we do next, but we can’t control what happens in the future, any more than we can reach back into the past and change it.

“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.” — Kierkegaard

I like to listen to podcasts while I’m walking my dog in the mornings. I tend to listen to shows which are thought-provoking, such as The Mindset Mentor, The Mel Robbins Podcast, The 5am Miracle, Achieve your Goals with Hal Elrod, and The Rich Roll Podcast.

Over the last few mornings I’ve been listening to the latest Rich Roll podcast, with Professor Joel Pearson. He’s a neuroscientist and a professor of psychology at the University of New South Wales, and he works in the field of intuition.
